We are looking for a Server, Storage and Database Administrator. The role will be responsible for delivering the end-to-end DBA activities across the Process Control environment.

This requires working closely with the Process control teams in supporting the central platform through diagnosing, resolving and documenting problems in a timely fashion ensuring minimal downtime impact to the business-critical operations, in alignment to APC/ME, Cyber Security and Enterprise Architecture standards

Reporting to the Supervisor Comms/Networks/Hosting and working in a collaborative community within team, you will be performing the following duties:

  • Installing, configuring and troubleshooting of Windows and Linux based operating systems
  • Installing, configuring and troubleshooting of Dell physical server/workstation (Dell Standalone servers, VXRAIL, Thin clients) equipment and virtualization environments (Hyper-V and VMWARE)
  • Installing, configuring and troubleshooting of SQL Database environments
  • Configuring and Managing of SAN storage (Netapp, HP)
  • Managing of Backup environment based on Acronis and Backup exec
  • Maintain a healthy documentation process of all Hosting and DBA infrastructure components
  • Manage relationships with external vendors that support components of the infrastructure
  • Perform quality checks to ensure standards and solutions are met during project delivery and accepts transition to support from Delivery teams
  • Part take in standby rotation as part of support to the RBM business that is 24x7x365

What you’ll bring

  • Matric
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) and MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer)
  • Diploma in Industrial Instrumentation (Advantage)
  • +3 Years proven Database and Server Administration Experience
  • Added Advantage - A+, N+, Server+, Security+, Wonderware Certification
